In the  Classroom

Vern continues to spend many hours in the classroom with the students.  He is presently teaching a module on animism.  Personal and impersonal spirits form a big part of the worldview of many unreached people groups.  In this module we address and expose the students to examples and the basic beliefs of animism and how it controls and influences most religions around the world.

Trainers Forum

In three weeks our Training Center is hosting an International Trainers forum.  Vern along with three of our coworkers have spent many hours planning out the different sessions that they will be presenting. There will be many missionaries flying in from different countries to attend.  We would appreciate your prayers that this Trainers Forum will be a profitable time for all who attend.

Missionary Kid Caregivers Consultation

Recently, Holly was able to attend a Missionary Kid Caregivers Consultation.  There were 53 missionaries from many different mission organizations who attended this conference.  Some of the key topics were : The Core Needs of Every Kid, Equipping and Working with Missionary Parents, and the Spiritual Development of M.K.'s.  There were also many work shops on transition activities that help M.K.'s in the many transitions that they make.  It was a very worthwhile and valuable time.  Holly went away with some ideas that she  hopes to implement into our training program here.

Safe Child Program

Holly is in her second week of teaching a Child Safety Program to the primary age children on the campus.  A coworker is teaching the preschoolers program.  This is a course that teaches prevention of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse by people known to a child; and prevention of abuse and abduction by strangers.  By educating children it helps to reduce children's risk of abuse and enhances their personal safety.  We are very excited to be able to offer this course again this year and are encouraged to see the children picking up the concepts that are taught.

This past weekend we attended Ruth's Pinning and Graduation.  It was quite a celebration!  Ruth worked very hard through many health struggles to finish strong and she graduated with honors.  How we thank the Lord for how he made this dream become a reality.  Thank you so much for your love and support for her throughout these years.  She is now studying for her NClex exam (in order to get her RN license) which she hopes to take sometime in June or July.  However, she is also in the process of filling out job applications.  She has a job interview at Duke university hospital, in North Carolina, in a couple of weeks.  We would appreciate your prayers for her in this next step in life. Thanks!
Thanks so much for standing behind us as we serve here at the missionary training center.  We greatly value your part in our ministry.
