Reaching Tribes, Transforming Lives

Our year began with meetings at the US head office for NTM. Although the purpose of the trip was not to get away from all the snow and cold, it was a nice perk.  Our equipping programs continue to evaluate and plan for the road ahead and Holly and I had the opportunity to speak into these strategic meetings. These ongoing evaluations continue to happen in a number of different contexts and countries.   Just a few weeks ago Holly and I went to the American training center in Missouri.  We were involved in a training forum in which  9 other countries joined together to learn and grow from one another.

European Trainers Forum

I took yet another trip, this time to the coast of the North Sea and to a small hamlet called North Cotes.  Here our European Equipping Center held it's first forum where trainers from around the world attended a conference to evaluate and give input into this work.  It was a great time of fellowship and encouragement as we work together to equip people to become more effective servants of the Church.

Families in Education

The MK Care and Ed Department is continuing to invest in our students in helping to prepare their families for working overseas.  A big concern for families is the education of their children. This spring Holly taught a week of classes centered on educating M.K.'s on the mission field and all the educational options available.  Each country we work in varies, and so we want to inform our families as to what they can expect in the different countries and regions that our mission works in.

Home School Workshop

Holly held a home school workshop for our mom's who are heading overseas. Most of our families choose to home school their children at least until junior high.  Holly was able to share many of the joys and challenges that she faced with home schooling our five children in a remote location.

MK's in Transition

Since, we are trying to prepare the whole family for life on the mission field Holly continues to develop activities for our children whose parents are in the training.  There will be many transitions and adjustments ahead of these dear children.  Holly and her department have been investing time and energy into planning fun activities that help inform and prepare the children for some of the transitions they will be facing.

University Bound

Titus will be attending Liberty University in the fall.  He was able to receive a tuition free M.K. Scholarship. (He will still have to pay for his room and board, for his books, and his living expenses.)  This is a HUGE provision!  Please be praying for him as he gets back into the studies again and for all the adjustments ahead of him.

Keep Praying!

We are very excited for the upcoming wedding of Zachary and Elisha the 2nd of August.  Elisha is an amazing young lady  and we are looking forward to the added blessing Elisha will be to our family.  Please continue to pray for her immigration paper work that it would come through so that she can move down to Charlotte, North Carolina with Zachary after their wedding celebration.
