Leadership Meetings

Last week the NTM USA leadership team came up to Canada to have meetings with the Canadian Leadership Team.  Two distinct countries and nationalities and yet we face many of the same challenges as we seek to reach those who have not yet heard the Gospel.  It was a good time of fellowship, prayer, planning and strategy as we looked at today's world and today's context to share the wonderful life changing message of the Gospel.

This week was the first ever Canadian M.K. Re-Entry Retreat!  What an answer to prayer it has been to see this come from the planning stage into the reality stage.  Many of us have seen the need to help our Canadian M.K.'s adjust back into life here in Canada. When an M.K. comes back to their passport country it is not really like "Coming Home" since they were raised in another country with another culture.  God really put together an amazing staff; almost all are M.K.'s themselves who have a lot of experience in counseling and helping M.K.'s work through the adjustments that will be coming ahead. Some of the topics covered were: M.K. Identity, Grief and Loss, Transitions, Boundaries, Safety and Security, Faith and Spirituality on Campus, Relationships, and Dating and Sex.  Please pray for these ten M.K.'s as they make this HUGE transition back to Canada.  As you get to know missionary families try to remember their children and see what you can do to help them in transitioning.  We know from our own M.K. children that transitioning to North American life can be very challenging.  Every kind word, encouraging note, care package,  random acts of kindness, and faithful prayers really means a lot and makes a difference in the life of an M.K.

School Year 2013-2014

Although the classroom is empty right now there is still a lot of activity going on behind the scene's in preparation for the new semester.  The maintenance team is getting apartments ready for the new students, our registrar of admissions is still having a lot of communications with our new students as there are still many details that need to fall into place for each student and student family to make the big move here.  As a training staff many of us are working on course material for the new semester, setting up chapels and fellowship groups, and planning out our discipleship and work programs.  There are so many other little details that the team works on for the new fall semester.  We have asked you to faithfully pray for more laborers. We are so excited for the 19 new students that are heading this way.  We have three singles and eight families coming with a total of 15 children.  Please be praying for our new students and all the last minute details that need to fall in place in order for them to be able to come.  And also pray for the big adjustments and the transition to life here at the Missionary Training Center.

Crossing the Finish Line

Zachary is almost to the finish line.  He has worked very hard and is on the home stretch.  He has three weeks to go.  He has been putting in very long hours working on his computer programs and there might be some all nighters yet ahead.  He has been applying for many jobs.  Please pray for him to finish strong and also that he will be able to find a job in the computer programming field.  Thanks!

RN and Engaged!

Thanks so much for your prayers for Ruth.  She passed her NCLEX exam and received her Michigan nursing license.  She is in the process of getting her North Carolina nursing license.  She has already moved down to N.C. and is in the process of setting up residency.  Please be praying for her and Glenn as they adjust to a a new place and culture, for them to find a good church, and develop some good friendships.  And yes, they are engaged.  No date has been set for the wedding yet.

To Our Dear Friends

Thanks so much for standing behind us in our ministry.  There are so many challenges we face on a daily basis and how we value all who pray and support our ministry.  Thanks for your love and encouragement as we press on.
