- The "What should the definition of AI be?" topic has
been enhanced with quotes from and a link to an article by
John McCarthy.
October
- Under the timing.html page I've
added links to online papers of people who document the
failures of the past.
- I've sometimes been surprised to find AI oriented
individuals who do NOT think that the main, original goal of
AI was to produce systems roughly equal to a human being so
I've included a link to a postscript document by one of the
important people who was present at the beginning, Nils J.
Nilsson, where he states that that was the goal, see the
definition of AI question page, ai.html.
This page has been rewritten some and I've added a definition
of AI article by John McCarthy.

effects.html page.
- A link to a Marvin Minsky article that argues for the use
of both symbol processing and neural networking in AI systems,
listed under Neural Networking on the
systems.html page.
